BACKGROUND:
I finished my medical studies in 2016 at the University Medical Center of Mainz, Germany. During medical school, I had the chance to spend 6 months at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, France, studying philosophy and medical ethics within the framework of my thesis. Being very interested in different cultures, I spent several medical electives abroad - such as in Switzerland, France and the United States.
THE GRK IS...
an amazing opportunity for a medical student to gather new ideas on "Life Writing". I am looking forward to sharing my ideas with the members of the GRK and I hope to make new experiences in this interdisciplinary research.
MY GOAL IS...
to widen my medical horizon and to learn more about the humanities and experiences at the boundaries of human life. I focus on cultural influences on the human being and I am really looking forward to working on a topic together with the faculty members and fellow students.
MY PROJECT...
is a qualitative study that examins the body image of an anorectic patient. I focus on cultural influences on the human being: What influence does the body image in our society have on the body image of a patient with Anorexia Nervosa? Does our society favour a disease as Anorexia Nervosa?
