Background

I hold an M.A. in English and American Studies from Goethe-University, Frankfurt. During the last four years I have worked as a lecturer and research assistant at the University of Münster teaching American Literary and Cultural Studies. During my studies I have focused on feminist theory and gender studies, and my recent research and teaching areas are queer theory, autobiography and illness writing.

The GRK is ...

an extraordinary opportunity for meeting scholars from a variety of connected fields and discussing interdisciplinary projects within a cooperative atmosphere as well as collaborating with people from different disciplines in terms of research and teaching.

My goal is ...

to broaden my theoretical knowledge and gain new perspectives on my own work, but also the work of others. I hope to find an exciting environment, and fruitful discussions in order to deepen an understanding of interdisciplinary questions in the field of life writing and life sciences.

My project ...

deals with autobiographical narratives of HIV/AIDS from a queer theoretical perspective.
